Rick Sanchez, commonly referred to as Rick, is a megagenius scientist with a reckless and nihilistic behavior. He is often seen as an alcoholic and his actions bring concern to his family, especially his daughter. Despite his flaws, Rick is incredibly intelligent and capable of creating complex inventions.

Rick is jaded and often succumbs to his alcoholism and violent tendencies. He has difficulty forming emotional connections and often puts himself above others. He demonstrates a blatant disregard for life. However, Rick also holds deep emotional pain and has complex interactions with his family.
